4th and 5th Grade Cognitive Gifted Pullout Service

Qualifying students will have a cognitive gifted identification on an approved ability assessment from the spring of a student's third grade year or above. Students who are new to the district will have an opportunity to participate in a whole grade ability test administration in the spring of grade three and spring of grade four. For ELL students and students who have an IEP or 504 plan, consideration is taken into account with respect to testing instruments used in the spring of third or fourth grade. Decisions can be made as to the most appropriate testing instrument utilized prior to the spring whole grade testing window.

The 4th and 5th grade Cognitive Gifted Pullout Service has a commitment to:

  • Developing and expanding critical thinking and reasoning abilities
  • Utilizing differentiated instructional strategies
  • Increasing cognitive skills
  • Facilitating unique opportunities for learning
  • Supporting social-emotional growth of students as they recognize and appreciate their strengths, needs, and individuality

Please view our Enrichment Menu outlining the foundations for 4-5 gifted services.
